The Physical to the Therapy.

You guysssss.

I am making progress!

As I said in my last post, I am full weight bearing status this week. No more crutches! Life is slowly getting back to normal.

Sorry I haven't been around the blog much. We've had some sickness at our house. But, no one really wants an in depth post about how sick you or your fam are. So just know that no one died, and we are on the mend. Just the usual Daycare/Office induced colds.

I had my first physical therapy appointment yesterday. I was a little worried about what it would feel like to get my foot moving outside of the ol' boot. But really, it wasn't that bad.

My physical therapist first did an evaluation on my ankle. Mostly measuring flexibility in my right ankle versus my left for some reference points. The rest is probably kind of boring. We talked about where I wanted to go in terms of mobility. I of course said, "Well, I run." He said, "How far."

I think we are off to a good start.

My first session mostly consisted of stretching out my foot. It is super stiff and weak. Obviously from not moving for about 3 weeks. I rode on a bike, did some balance exercises, and squats. I didn't feel like I was ever going to die, which was awesome.

I will go to physical therapy twice a week for the next four weeks. My therapist believes that at the end of four weeks, I may not be running, but I will probably be at a point that I can start.

Yipee!
